Job Descriptions

Job Coach - A direct service position involving the supervision and training of persons with developmental disabilities in a community setting. Essential duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  • Provides constant supervision, care, training, and job coaching of clients
  • Implements behavioral modification techniques
  • Assists, develops, and implements client Individual Support Plans (ISP's)
  • Attends client ISP meetings
  • Evaluates and charts client progress
  • Maintains accurate and consistent field charts
  • Prepares daily communication with care providers and daily and monthly office record-keeping
  • Operates passenger vans and transports clients
  • Assists clients with special needs in the use of adaptive equipment
  • Iinterests clients in various age-appropriate community activities
  • Develops training objectives and intervention strategies for clients
Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Reasonable accommodations ma be made to enable individuals with disability to perform the essential functions.

Education and / or Experience 

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in behavioral science from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Language Skills

Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, home staff, and agency employees. Ability to cogently articulate thoughs during meetings.

Licenses and / or Certificates 

Current California drivers license. Must for over twenty-one (21) years old to meet minimum driving requirements.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
