Therapeutic Crisis Support

ABOUT TCS

TCS is designed to provide intensive crisis prevention, emergency response intervention, and follow-up support to individuals and families. The goal of TCS is to maintain client placement within the least restrictive environment possible, while simultaneously increasing client success in the community.

TCS SERVICES

Program Duration: 12-18 Months

CRP Referral: Mandatory

ADVOCACY & TRAINING

TCS works with support services to increase client engagement and productivity within the community. Caregiver behavioral training will be provided.

CRISIS SUPPORT

TCS collaborates with Crisis Response Project (CRP) to manage crisis calls of TCS clients. CRP provides 24/7 mobile crisis support, 365 days per year.

THERAPY

TCS encourages the participation in individual, group, and/or family therapy. Therapies include focus for gang involvement, substance abuse, positive coping strategies, and anger management.

SOCIAL & SEXUALITY TRAINING

TCS provides guidance to clients and caregivers regarding the issues of sexual consent, appropriate physical relationships, assertiveness, and sexual awareness.

LAW ENFORCEMENT COLLABORATION

The TCS team will attend ELARC area police briefings and training sessions. Information will be provided to officers regarding the DD population.

MENTAL HEALTH PARTNERSHIPS

TCS will create partnerships with community mental health providers. TCS will provide trainings to these providers in working with the DD population.

ASSESSMENTS & TREATMENT PLANS

TCS will create Assessments and Treatment Plans to address client behavior and provide recommendations for implementing appropriate crisis strategies.

FORENSIC SUPPORT

TCS will work closely with the judicial system and support services in order to minimize potential client incarceration.

Entrance Criteria

PROGRAM DURATION: 12-18 Months
CRP REFERRAL: Mandatory

  • Substance abuse issues
  • Extreme self-harm behavior
  • Repeated admission for psychiatric hospitalization
  • Gang affiliation
  • Interest in criminal activities
  • Placement in a restrictive setting such as a DC or DDMI Facility
  • Fire setting
  • Court involvement/forensic history
  • Registered sex offenders and/or similar behaviors
